Checklist Items: Comment & Picture

For both QC and Safety there has been requests to reduce the taps for a Passing checklist item.

Current State:

An Observation can be required upon pass on not. Observations include title, description, photo, assignment and cc.

Suggested State:

Have an option to add only a comment and photo after pressing Pass. Which means after tapping Pass a model for "Comment or Photo?" will be needed. That comment and photo will live in the checklilst item. Exporting of the checklists will need to be resolved. Albums will then have an album for checklists.

    Patrick,

Just had a thought that we might consider for this PASS functionality giving us the option to create an OBS or not:

We could also accomplish this by adding a 4th button in addition to PASS/FAIL/NA called OBS (which would also be a shade of green). Clicking on this would always force the creation of a "pass" type Observation, whereas PASS would only record the pass. It would function like a COMMENT option but of course require it in the form of pass-type Observation

With this strategy, we would not need the project setting for providing the option or not - teams would just select the button they want.

We need to be careful on this one. Any use of the checklists to document a deficiency or otherwise should always result in an Observation.

Creating a “Pass” observation should general a General non-deficiency Observation. Required fields should include: title, description (i.e. comments), photo. Optional fields would include: assignee, cc:

An additional thought: we could create a project-level toggle that would enable/disable “Pass” observations. Some teams want a quick “Pass” button and can use the General Observations checklist item to create all non-deficiency observations. Some teams prefer any “Pass” to include the option to create a General observation from any checklist item. With a toggle we could accommodate both.
